Korean Pandemic movie, The Flu (2013). 감기

There is a Korean movice which was releasd in year 2013. When it was first released, it couldn't get good feedback. However Covid-19 has issued in all over the word and this movie became more famous now since it is very similar to current situation. You can see how people can be changed, if they are in big panic by fast infection.

Jigu (Hyuk Jang) is the abulance worker who works in Bundang area. He goes out to rescure person from accident as usaul. He saved the women(Inhae) and he fell in love in first sight. She was the doctor who is in specialized in infectious diseases.

At the same time, there are people who tried to get into Korea illeagly but they were found as dead except one person, Mongsai.

Inhae met a person who got infection of something and she saw he dead. Doctors tried to find the reason and they found that there was a container which may had transformed avian influenza. Virus already have been spreaded to many people in Bundang area and it became disaster very soon. The death rate is over 50%.

People in high degree decided to lock down city and they are trying to control the situation.

Government is trying to control people in Bundang by locking them in one place.

Inhae found out her only daugther already got infection of virus so she is trying to hide it. Jigu tries to protect Inhae and her daugther. Doctors are trying to find antibody for solving current issue.

Will the situation can be setteled down ?  Will Inhae save her daughter from virus ?

 

There are several interseting points you can see.

1. There is a tense that Inhae is trying to hide her daughter's infection. 

2. You can see how people can be changed. It's not only the people who have been locked down but also people who have to control the people. There are soldiers who control the people but it was hard to understand their harsh behavior for people.

3. Panic from unseen virus was very well filmmed.

 

It has been already half of year that we have been with Covid-19. If Covid-19 was as strong as this Flu, our countries may be in much worse. I was thanksful for current situation from watching this movie.

It's really hard to live under Covid-19 but you can have positive mind, if you see the moive.

 

Although this is great movie to see now, it had more negative feedback when it was released.
