Don't run after hit, Hit-and-run squad (2019)

Do you like driving ? Have you ever heard hit and run squad ?

we have had many cases that people make accident and just run away so we have a specific team which investigate only this kinds of cases only in Korean police. I didn't know hot they work so it was really interesting topic for movie, although it's not watched by many foreigners.

 

Siyeon is the elite police who is working under Ms.Yoon's team. They are chasing Jaecheol who has given bribe to police chief. Jaecheol is the CEO who have much enthusiasm in racing and very hot bloody person. However, they failed to get physical proof of it so they are separated to each team and Siyeon is designated into team for hit and run.

Siyeon meets Minjae and Ms.Woo as teammates. Actually Minjae was tracking a car which was used for hit and run and the owner of this car was Jaecheol. However, Jaecheol already gave money to witness so it was hard to get physical proof. Siyeon was also looking for this car since camera in this car is proof for bribe.

Siyeon makes a plan to steal the car and Minjae laso makes a plan to capture Jaecheol. Siyeong got success to steal the car but Jaecheol found out and trace her. Siyeon ran into narrow alley and Jaecheol hit the ambulance which was been driving by Minjae's father. Minjae tried to rescue his father but he died because of fire occurred from car accident. He tried to kill Jaecheol but Siyeon protect him not to kill.

Will Minjae do the revenge to Jaecheol by remembering that he was biker ? Will Siyeon get success to put Jaecheol into prison ?

 

This movie is written as action but you could just see the car racing as action in this moive. The story line is very common story. Happy life - Revenge - Happy life. Performance of actors is really good but feel sorry for weak story line. The tile was fresh since they focused on hit and run team in police but they couldn't show us the detail only with this material. If you want to enjoy little action with drama, you can enjoy this movie. If you are really big fan of action, this movie will be joke for children.

 

If Hit-and-run squad was a 90 minute moive, it would have been great. Unfortunately, the South Korean action flick runs about 40 minutes longer.

 

Detail in everyday life of police, relationship among cops, it's interesting to see this concepts. However, story for charactors are too weak  in the second half of movie and racing cars scene couldn't make enough tense for viewers. (경찰내 조직의 일상적 디테일, 관계 등 흥미로운 설정이 돋보인다. 다만 초반 캐릭터 전개가 후반기 접어들어 약화된 점, 도심 시가전을 구현한 추격신은 다소 긴장의 속력이 붙질 않아 아쉽다.)

 

Despite the motorsports setting and proliferation of high-octane vehicles, the film refuses to shift its procedural plot into anything approaching top gear.

 

Just how do you make a story about cops, race car drivers, and street race with super cars this boring ?

<Conclusion>

Siyeon gets success to find camera in super car so she handed it over to Ms.Yoon. Ms.Yoon reported to head office that police chief received the bribe with proof so police chief got fired. However, Jaecheol didn't go into prison and he plans to run away to America.

Minjae have kept investigated of Jaecheol and he found that proof of Jaecheol's hit and run is in the pond. On the other hand, Siyeon found out Ms.Yoon also have connection with Jaecheol so she helped Jaecheol to runaway to America.

Minjae and Siyeon make a plan to capture Jaecheol and they captured him after final racing between Minjae and Jaecheol.
